Who we are
Our website address is:
What personal information we collect and why we collect it
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data visible in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.
The anonymised string created from your email address (also known as a hash) can be provided to the Gravatar service to verify that you are using it. The privacy policy of the Gravatar service is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is publicly visible in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to your site, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Site visitors can download and extract any location data from images on your site.
Contact forms
If you leave a comment on our site, you may give us permission to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal information and is deleted when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set some cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. The login cookies last for two days and the screen option cookies last for one year. If you select the ‘Remember me’ option, your login will be retained for a fortnight. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be deleted.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you have just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may contain embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly the same as if the visitor had visited another website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking by third parties and monitor your interaction with this embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to this website.
How long we keep your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are stored indefinitely. This allows us to automatically recognise and approve any subsequent comments, rather than holding them in a queue for moderation.
For users who register on our site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username). Site administrators can also see and edit this information.
What rights do you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request the deletion of any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data that we are required to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
Where do we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked by an automated spam detection service.
